The use of automobiles, which has a large share in the transportation sector and is an indispensable vehicle in daily life, is increasing. Reducing the emissions from the power units and fuel sources of these vehicles is very important in terms of society and human health. Considering that future cars will be quieter and on the road with zero emissions, it is inevitable that technology will evolve in this direction. All technologies that will be developed to make useful products from the production of the engine, power supply, and power transmission systems to be used are promising. It is inevitable to use these technologies for both internal combustion engines and electric motor vehicles. For this purpose, it is aimed to highlight the studies based on the use of zero-emission and emission-reduction technologies by the automotive industry in this special issue.
